19" OEM Wheels: Should I buy
19" OEM Wheels: Should I buy
I have found this set of 4 wheels, OEm 19 " on craigslist. Three of them have curb rashes( not terrible). Tires pretty much need to be changed. According to the owner they do have TPMS. He's come down to $600.
1. Is this a good price?
2. How would you know if the TPMS is there and is functional before buying/installing?
Here is the pictures of the three wheels that have the rash. fourth one is healthy. Also a picture of the condition of the tires.
Thanks

That is one helluva good price for a full OEM set! ... even with the blemishes.
Recommended cold pressure is 35psi for those 19's. That's what my door jam sticker says. 225/40 front and 245/40 rear.
Install a wheel, deflate to 20psi, and see if the TPMS light comes on.

OEM 19" Rims....?
Consider if you buy those eBay rims you'll need tires and that expense. There's a member selling his 19" G37 rims with tires he claims have 80% tread left for $1400. He's posting pic today, check it out....

I should sell my OEMs if I can get that kind of coin for them... mine have brand new Kuhmos on them and I just recleared 2 last week and Im reclearing the other two tonight. The two I resprayed look brand new
is it me...? But arent 19inch tires more costly than 18s and 20s? Im looking at 1100 for 4 brand new tires...Im thinking about getting a chamber kit to even the wear out if I get new tires..
A wheel repair shop quoted me $150 to fix rash on one wheel similar to the rash in your first pic. You might want to think about that if 3 are, especially the one in your 4th pic. That one is really thrashed.
i would not call that a good deal, there. $600 for a damaged set of rims, with essentially no rubber. new rubber will set you back at least $1000, and each wheel will be at least $75-$125 to fix. that means all-in you could be looking at $2000+ for this set refurbished and street-able. so "is $2000+ a good deal" should be your question, since $600 buys you a project. now, if you like scraped up wheels with bald tires then this may in fact be a good deal...
i paid $680 CDN for my set of MINT rays, with OEM tread at 99% (they were driven on for 4 days). that's what i call a great deal, and a rare find in my market. however, you should be able to get a good used set w/decent tires for under $1000 USD.
