brake pads and tires

How many miles can you get on the stock brake pads and tires. When should I be looking to have them replace? Thanks.

Re: brake pads and tires

It all depends on your driving habits - everyone drives a car differently...I have seen agressive drivers wear out brakes in 7-8k miles and tires in 15k due to lack of rotation - I have also seen brakes last 40-50k miles and tires last 30-40k miles - it all depends on what kind of driver you are - no two are the same...

Re: brake pads and tires

My stock brakes lasted about 6-7K miles, my rear stock tires lasted about 12K miles, and my stock fronts about 15K.
at 12K miles my rears tires were completly bald, I was stunned as I never paid attention, and happened to look at the tires when washing my car.

Re: brake pads and tires

I'm concerned with the brakes because I think the rears are making a noise. But I could be wrong. It seems to be coming from the rear passenger side. My front tires aren't exactly bald but I can see that it looks to be pretty worn down. I read somewhere that you had to replace the rotors when replacing the pads. I have the brembos by the way. Thanks.

You do not need to replace rotors unless they are warped or below minimum thickness.
