Will this Work?

I wanna give the rear a wider standing appearance. I have the stock 18's on and wanted to know if i would be able to fit 275's on the 245's rims? Has anyone does this yet?

What stock 18s are you referring to?

it's been done before on the coupe 18's, many say it's unsafe but so many has ran the opposite but almost the same level of "unsafe-ness" with super stretch tires but they don't get chewed out for it...in other words, super wide rims, with narrow tires.

As for me, I would like to try it, but then again...I'm more scared. It fvckin looks good though!

Regardless, unless it's a nismo wheel a 275 on an 8" or even 8.5" is going to look wack.

265 on an 8.5" is the 100% maximum I would run.

Width on a 275mm tire is 10.8, just think about it, does a 10.8 tire fit an 8" wheel?

Looks like a wack *** balloon. Stance still looks thin because it's pulling the sidewalls in.

Buy new wheels and coils if you want a sick stance.

^ oh c'mon, it's not that bad, it's like a concave look with the sidewalls pulled in....look at those over stretch tires on your avatar...now that looks more like a balloon, the walls are rounded out and super stretched, looks like it's about to pop inwards and out of its bead. I know it's popular nowadays and all, but if you can stick a piece of toast in between your rim and tire cause of the extreme tire stretch, I'd be worried about the hard earned $5k wheels.

The only thing preventing narrow tires popping inwards off the bead is air, at least with the set up above, narrow rims and wider tires, you have at least the lip of the rim to prevent it from popping outwards...but hey, I can't speak from experience, I'm far from being stretched from either direction.

But when you look at a car what looks better? Slammed and stretched or high and wide?

Gotta say I'm old school and think both of the styles debated here are wack. JMHO.

Tires stretched

is the whole point of stretching tires...fitment? Just so can go lower? Can't afford wide enough tires? No offense honestly some of my friends stretch there tires and those are their excuses. I personnally don't like the stretched look or the tires are too wide for the wheels look either. I do like being real low but not slammed even though I do like the slammed look but on my car it's just not my preference. I run ame tm-02s 19x10.5 all four corners with 27535 rear and 27530 tires for the front, and I'm still pretty low. So I guess I fall in the pretty low and wide catagory that wasn't mentioned. To the op, do what u want to your car, there will always be people giving u their personal preference rather then the answer you are looking for, which You probably already know.

Also on that black g35 if those are 275 wide tires it was pointless cause cause they look like they still have a 245-255 wide contact patch. If u want better rear traction just get a stickier compound

Could help prevent inner and outer tire wear
