Problem with coupe 19"s
Hey guys I need your advice. I recently bought coupe 19"s and the fronts are pretty worn on the edges and about 40% tread in the middle. I put them on just to see how it handled compared to my sedan 18"s. I was prepared for it to ride a little rougher. To my surprise, driving in the city was fine and couldn't really notice any difference. When I got on the highway to go to work there was a little vibration in the steering wheel at about 55 but if I speed up to 70 it vibrates BAD. If I held one hand on the steering wheel at 12 oclock you could see my hand going back and forth. Would new tires solve this or do you think the wheels need to be rebalanced? Should I take it in to see if the wheels are out of round? I plan on getting new tires but don't want to spend the money if it is going to ride like sh** anyway. Let me know.

Should probably have wheels re-balanced as that is alot cheaper than spending on new tires. Having unevenly worn tires can have that effect or it can also make your car pull to one side. I would do what is most cost effective first, balancing of wheels. The shop that balances them should be able to tell you if the wheels are bent and if your tires need to be replaced. 19" tires are more expensive than 20" tires.
