Re: 18" wheels on lowered sedan

Nice. by the way I had axis hagens on my sedan. 245/40/19. The car did become a little more sluggish on acceleration. Also, a note about my axis, bent 3 of 4 rims. Have rough roads here in SA, texas. I was not pleased, expensive rims, not well constructed in my opinion. I have ran oz and bbs's on my mustang with lower side wall tires, and for a fact hit some serious potholes, but rims never bent.IN my opinion, get a forged wheel, they are stronger.

Chenuine,

I had the stock sport suspension on my G35, it came standard with the 6MT. Its little hard for me to compare it directly to the stock suspension as I added Nismo Sway bars at the same time I had the Nismo Suspension put on. So Im not sure how much is suspension and how much is sway bars. But comparing my setup to stock. My ride comfort is only slightly more stiffer then the sport suspension but not quite as stiff as the stock 350z, another words very comfortable. But the body roll found in the stock suspension is pretty much gone now.
Not that the stock sport suspension would bounce much over uneven roads, but the little it did is also gone.

It handles awesome.... but i'm sure some of this is probably because of the sway bars and the wider rims with sticky tires.

I'll post some more pictures tomorrow

Nismo Type S Suspension / Nismo Sway Bars
19" OZ Rims / Stillen Front/Rear Camber Kit / Z Tube
Stillen Big-Airflow Intake / Stillen Catback Exhaust

Re: 18" wheels on lowered sedan

As an update...

I finally got my HKS Hipermax LS coilovers installed. I did not want to roll my fenders, so my drop was controlled by trying to avoid rubbing issues.

As it turned out, I was able to achieve a 1" drop in the front. The rear drop was 0.75" which was chosen to result in a wheel well gap matching the front. I have not experienced any tire rubbing issues during my daily drives.

I wonder why most wheel retailers don't recommend an offset less than 45 in the rear, even with an 8.5 inch wheel. You're running a 9.5 inch wheel with a 38 offset. Discount Tire doesn't show the G35 as an application for the Privat Kraftwerk since it only comes in an 8.5/35mm, but it seems like that should be fine, even on a lowered car.
