lighest race wheel
Re: lighest race wheel
I know the forged Work Emotion in 18x9.5 is 17 pounds. I remember seeing a magnesium wheel in 18x9.5 that weighed like 16 pounds or maybe even 15.x pounds. I don't think they get much lighter than that. (Unless you go 16 or 17 inch)

BBS Magnesium. I doubt most people could afford them, and my friend tells me that they bend/break easily. They go through sets of them frequently...
If you like 19's, try the BBS-RGR. They're 19/20 pounds front/rear.

Re: lighest race wheel
lightest wheel that will fit on the G properly is going to be the Enkei RPF-1 - you can get it in 17x8, 17x9 I think - each wheel weighs around 15lbs so that's pretty damn light - and they are pretty cheap to boot...

_crazi4speed_ ,
I think oem 18" wheel alone is 25-26 lbs.
Front wheel + Michelin Pilot sport is ~49 lbs, rear is ~50 lbs.

yup. the stock 18"s are 24 lbs. With tires, they are around 48 and 51 lbs. Going to a lightweight 17", 18" or even a lightweight 19" set-up will have a significant affect on performance.
Meta and I both went with the 19" RacingHart CP-F Tuned. I lost a total of 13 lbs. of unsprung weight. Multiply that by 4 or 5 (to convert to dead weight) and it is significant IMO.

I would recommend the Volk TE37 and CE28N as well. These are very light in the 18" configuration and will clear Brembos. Volks has a very good reputation as well. If you won the lottery, of course, go for magnesium rims at $1500+ a pop.

Re: lighest race wheel
I was looking for a forged 19 that balanced low-weight with good looks... and when I learned that al503's Racing Harts were significantly lighter than stock, I kept coming back to those as my wheel of choice. I'm real happy with 'em!
Although they're great for either road or track, I think next spring I'll get ultralight 18's and put racing tires on them (probably Toyo RA-1's), and then use those as dedicated track wheels (and use the Racing Harts for the street). I'd even go with 17's if it weren't for the Brembos. Minimizing that unsprung weight makes such a noticeable difference on the track!

Re: lighest race wheel
CHECK THIS OUT that might help.i also know a company who make very light aluminum wheels.can't remember the name.i'll post it after i go home today.
Re: lighest race wheel
My question is if the wheel is light, will it bend easily when hit the hard/hole road? Suppose you going 80 mph on freeway and you hit the small hole on the freeway.... will the wheel bend?
