HELP ASAP....Screw in tire....get 4 new Hankook V12's or 1?

took the G to the dealer to get a screw removed from the middle of the tread and have it patched. called back and said it had 2 screws in it....1 in the middle of the tread and 1 near the side wall....obviously the 1 near the side wall cant be patched, so im going to need a new tire. he said my tires had 7/32's of tread left, so i could get away with buying just 1 tire. i was planning on getting new Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 rubber all around when i needed to, but obviously this throws a wrench into those plans.

big question is, should i just buy 1 Hankook V12 from tirerack to replace the screw riddled tire, buy 2 Hankook V12's for the rears to keep things even, or just get all 4 right now since they have the $50 rebate until the end of May and just hold on to the front 2 until i need them?

dealer charges $286/stock Conti tire....4 Hankook V12's on tirerack shipped are $690 (-$50 rebate brings them down to $640) and the delivery estimate from tirerack is 5/13-5/14 (thurs or friday)

i had one of them screws near the sidewall twice. first time it happened i took their advice and replaced the 1 tires. man wat a bitch cus i jus got the tires. second time i said fk it i aint gonna but another tire again. of course we all kno it shouldnt be patched but i said fk it. and patched it myself and had no problems AT ALL and still running the tires. of course it depends how close but i would patch and monitor it. shops dont wanna do it cus of legality issues but its still patchable. wat a waste i shoulda jus patched it the first time. thats my lesson

check around to see if there's a reputable used tire shop in your area. perhaps you can get another rear with approximately the same amount of wear as your non-screw riddled tire.

Considering the tires still have 7/32 tread, personally I would just replace the one bad tire. You'd be throwing away some tires that still have pretty decent tread, since they probably came with 9/32 or 10/32 when new.

well i went ahead and just bought 2 rears....i figure ill have them replace both rear tires with the hankooks, and then ill hold on to the 1 rear Conti that didnt have the screws in it as a backup incase another screw incident happens with a rear tire.

I'd get a pair. That way one end of the car has a fresh, undamaged pair and you won't have to play the uneven tire wear game.
