Spacers with stock 17s?

Hey all,

A friend of mine just picked up an 03.0 IP sedan. He wants to put spacers on the stock 17s. Which sizes should he run?

I've done 15mm all around before and it looked good. My car's lowered though...

Because he wants the stock wheels to fit more flush

Tell him to buy new wheels, don't bother wasting the $200 to add spacers.

If he's running stock size tires, on stock suspension, 15 or 20s all the way around. If he lowers it, 25s.

Well, to be honest he's just bought the car and has a low budget now. He eventually wants coupe 19s.. But he wanted to just paint the stockies for now and put spacers on them. His first mods are gonna be 350z springs, blacked out headlights and HIDs (since it's an 03.0), and coupe middy. He just bought it and it needs a few other things first. I told him buy coupe 18s and call it a day for $400

if he can find coupe 17s he wouldnt need new tires, $400 18s are gonna run near $1000 with decent tires, hub rings, lugs, mounting and balancing

350z 17s would have the same effect

17x7 +40 vs 17x7.5 +30 front 17x8 +33 rear

no one likes 17s so you can get them for peanuts

Well bromigo, in the other thread, you were talking about 17" aftermarket wheels (that I am sure are actually decent looking wheels, just a little small IMO) this thread is referring to not so good looking stock wheels.

But, just temps so what ever he wants to do.

Yes. This is definitely just a temporary setup. He's got a limited budget and would rather have flush stockies for now as a cheap temporary fix. I've seen plenty of Coupe 18s on CL in my area with tires for under $500, however. Also, what do you mean by coupe 17s? The 17s from the sedan and coupe are the same lol
