Re: Picked up Hotchkis
That's the best bang for the buck mod you will ever get for your car you won't regret it. Word of caution DO NOT SET IT AT STIFFEST SETTING. If you have springs already I suggest Softest front and medium rear. Stock suspension try medium all around some people like this setup best. Goodluck!

Re: Picked up Hotchkis
I love my Hotchkis!!!! I also have the Hotchkis Sport Coils too though....Taking corners at 55-60mph with very little roll is awesome....
my settings:
front - medium
back - soft
I would recommend having an impact wrench to make some of the nut removals easier as well as jack stand and a floor jack. OR, if you don't have an impact wrench, have a breaker bar available....speaking from self-install experience....

Re: Picked up Hotchkis
I thought the 5AT had an option for the sport suspension and the performance wheels and tires... and that there was also a "non-sport" suspension that was standard and came with 17" wheels.
Do I have my information wrong?
FYI, I never looked into a 5AT because I really wanted the manual, but am trying to figure out if the sways will help my car handle THAT MUCH better. If the suspensions are identical then I would suppose it would, but if the 5AT with the 17" wheels has a softer suspension, I could see how the sways would be a bigger benefit to that setup. My car feels pretty tight, I'm just wondering how much better it would feel with the Hotchkis antisway bars...
TIA

Re: Picked up Hotchkis
I got the Performance wheel and tire package which I think comes with the "sport" suspension including the LSD and is the same as the 6MT suspension according to my Infiniti sales rep.
You're right, I think the 17" wheel stock non-"performance" package doesn't come with LSD and differs from the performance 5AT/6MT package.
Is this right, its been a 8 months since I reviewed this....

Re: Picked up Hotchkis
"I noticed that all of you who've posted in this thread all have 5AT's. Have any of you ever driven a 6MT coupe? If so, how does your ride now compare with Nissans "sport suspension" of the 6MT?"
Well i have to say stock to stock there is no comparison, right now my handling is better than a stock coupe but not by much, the stockc oupe is amazing. My friend just got one and ive been driving it EVERYDAY, i love it, want a manual and hate automatic!! I feel like i was meant for the manual tranny lol, im def. getting one and hopefully soon. I would even be happy with my sedan in manual, but the coupe is an amazing car out of the box, same with sedan just a whole different feel. I want to get hotchkis sway's real soon..

Neff,
You are correct. I have the 5AT with the non-sport suspension.
I just had that non-sport suspension replaced with a sport
suspension. My non-sport came with 6 spoke 17" wheels
and BridgeStone EL 42s. Now I have the Kuhmo ECSTA
KH11 235/50/17s on them.
03 5AT Sedan, sunroof, splashguards, HKS muffler,
14 wire Grounding kit, Z Duct, Stillen HF/AB
Underbody rear diffusers, Drilled alum pedals,
Stillen sway bars S/H. Sport Tuned Suspension

Re: Picked up Hotchkis
cato - I did the same thing last winter (swapped my non-Sport suspension for nuttyprof's old Sport components) and am loving it. The car handles SO much better now. It's soft enough that there's still a luxury feel (and the wife doesn't complain), but firm enough to give a VERY sporty ride in the twisties.
I think that there's still too much body roll, though, and am definitely going to upgrade the sway bars soon. I like the feel of the ride, but would like the car to remain flatter when carving corners.
