No, a breaker bar gives you more leverage on the bolt your losening. You basically slip the wrench into a pipe giving you a longer handle which in turn gives you a much larger amount of leverage to break the nut or bolt free.

No offense, but if you have to ask what a breaker bar is you shouldn't be working on your car's suspension. If you make a mistake it could be deadly, no joke! Springs are VERY VERY dangerous!!! Please pay someone to do it if you haven't gotten it done yet. BTW, power tools may not help, your situation. Some things are better left to experts.
