Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
Should be basic labor charge at a suspension shop ......maybe ~$70-80/hour. Shop and call around....
Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
I got quoted $350 from the shop down the street from work and that sounded quite high to me? At $70 and hour, that would be 5 hours, it cannot possibly take that long to do?

Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
I would say approx. 45-60 minutes per spring depending on how fast the shop is. So anywhere from 250 -350 sounds about right...but most shops will charge you more just b/c they will and can...
I did my own with the help of a couple guys who have done suspension stuff on Hondas and truck lift kits and it took us 4 hours to do all the springs and the swaybars. But we didn't have all the right tools so it probably could have been done faster.
Also, if you take it to a shop to get it installed, you will only have 1 guy working on it which will make the time longer. (vs. the 3 people we had on my install)

Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
do the rears yourself as it is ALMOST too easy. It should take you 30 minutes to an hour for the first side and about half that for the second side once you do the first one. There are good instruction on g-owners.com by drsifu and Gsedan35.
I just did TCFools last weekend in about 30 minutes total for the rears.
I was charged $125 for a shop to do my front springs. It took 2 techs about an hour so it was very fair IMO. I just called them up to find out if they could do TCFool's front springs and they have since raised their labor rate and it'll be around $170 for the fronts.
I think anywhere from $200-$250 for all four corners is a fair deal.

Do It Yourself...
The time/money saved really isn't worth it, but the satisfaction of doing your own wrench work is priceless.
I had never done any wrench work on my car, so it took me a good 4-5 hours to switch out all four springs. The fronts are a bitch...I almost gave up...
if you have money to throw around, then paying to get it done is a good idea.
if not, it's a good time to bond with your car

It is nice to do mod yourself, but how much is your time worth?
The first front install would be a pain in the <>. Fairly competent mechanic can do it in about 3 hours and will need a spring compressor. I live in NJ and got quote that range from 450 - 200.
200 was good enough 4 me

Whoa! That is WAY too expensive. I paid $180 to have my coilovers installed from a very reputable shop. Call around, you'll find a much better price.

I paid $200 to have the entire suspension swapped out.
Do some investigating, you will be able to find a performance
shop somewhere who knows what they are doing.
03 5AT Sedan, sunroof, splashguards, HKS muffler,
14 wire Grounding kit, Z Duct, Stillen HF/AB
Underbody rear diffusers, Drilled alum pedals,
Stillen sway bars S/H. Sport Tuned Suspension

Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
That is what I will do! I am mechanically inclined, so I will just do it myself, I found a couple good DIY's!
You know if I will need a camber kit, or will it align just fine without having to do that?

Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
The rears are are very easy to do, do them yourself if your comfortable working on your own car. The trickiest part of the rear installation is lining up the pieces to install the new springs.
The fronts are a DIY as well, but are a little more involved than the rears. The guy that works on my car charged me $50 for both fronts and had it done in half an hour.
They're not difficult for someone with even a little experience and the right tools, it's certainly NOT a 5 hour job from start to finish.

Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
just do the whole thing yourself. the only tricky part is getting the new sprimg one the strut. you will need a spring compressor or will have to pay a local shop to swap the springs on the struts.
Re: What did you pay to have springs installed?
I attempted to do my own and it's a fkin biach! I can't get any of the bolts off at all. It's a pain... so I think I'm just going to pay someone to do it.

Joey,
A breaker bar is all you need. I use a 1" X 18" iron pipe which works perfectly.
