Iforged - Here we go again :(

I have had my Iforged Evolutions in brushed aluminum finish since May of this year. Recently, I have noticed several blemishes on the rims. It looks like the rims are peeling - almost as if they are losing a layer of skin. This peeling can be seen on both the face and the lips and dirt is starting to be caught in between layers, which makes the rim look like sh**.

Has anyone else with Iforged's experienced this peeling effect? Any ideas on what this could be? Do I have any recourse with Iforged?

Thanks.

Could it be the clear coat peeling off?

Interested to hear how this turns out, I have a set of polished but was thinking about selling and getting a set of brushed. Let us know what comes of it.

Also how do you clean your wheels?

Re: Iforged - Here we go again :(

It does seem to be the clearcoat peeling. I paid a substantial amount for these wheels, so the last thing that I expected was an inferior quality wheel. In any case, I'll have to call Iforged and see what can be done to rectify the situation. Hopefully, they will respond honerably.

As for cleaning, I have only used soap and water.

Same problem with mine.

I have Iforged Aero's with chrome lip since June and the
chrome is peeling off. VERY PISSED OFF!

Only clean wheels with McGuires car wash soap and water.

Re: Iforged - Here we go again :(

I haven't contacted Iforged yet.
I will try this coming Monday. I don't expect much to be done.
Very frustrated, I've had chrome rims before and this has never
happened. Spent alot of money for peeling rims.

Re: Iforged - Here we go again :(

I emailed Vince at Iforged about my problem with the wheels
and he wants me to send him pictures of the chrome peeling.
He noted if it was a mfg. defect they would gladly cover it.

Stand by, I'll let everyone know how this turns out.

REGARDING CLEARCOAT

We have some clearcoat problem but all wheels left our factory in perfect condition (We inspect every single wheel). Our standard clearcoat is being done by Speedway who happens to be the same clearcoat finisher for many other higher priced wheels (Shall remain nameless but we all know who they are).

Yes. There are a lot of repeating noise on the web about iForged. But my total complaint inbox for this year is a grand total of 5 customers. One of the customer complaint was about clearcoat. When we inspected the wheel there were tool marks where the clearcoat cracked. The problem was caused by careless installer but we get the shaft.

Bare standard clearcoat is nice but it is not as strong as on painted surface so now we also offer ceramic clearcoat (IMO not as nice but incredible strong since the only way to remove it is sandblasting). Also, we have always offered powdercoat clear as an option.
