thread on my front wheel lug is messed

The threads on one of my front wheel stud is stripped to hell. How hard is it to fix or should I just take it to a shop and have them do it. I believe they wanna charge me $40 to fix it. Is that a good price?

If the threads are stripped, they'll hafta replace the stud. Lotsa places in SoCal do it for free.

Free? Damn. I wish I knew of places like that in Houston that would do it for free. This sucks. They told me it would take about an hour and they would hafta remove the hub off, etc.
