18" BBS CH Fitment, please help
18" BBS CH Fitment, please help
I have a 2003 g35 sedan equipped with 18x8 BBS CH wheels with a +38mm offset and 235/45-18 tires. Stock wheels were 17x7 with a +45mm offset and 215/55-17 tires all around.
Unfortunately, I was in a wreck last weekend and the car has been totaled. As such, I am now seriously looking at a 2007 G35 Journey sedan. Stock wheels on this car are 17x7.5 with a +45mm offset and 225/55-17 tires all around.
Question -- will my 18x8 BBS CH wheels with a +38mm offset and 235/45-18 tires work on a 2007 sedan? I realize there will be some speedo error (will show a faster speed than actual) as the total wheel+tire height will slightly less than the stock combo. I'm more concerned about general fitment and the wheels staying within the fender wells.
Thanks

Thanks. Yes, I am a bit concerned about the offset being so far off factory spec, especially in the front since it alters the scrub radius and impacts steering feel. My understanding is that staying within 5mm of the factory specs is needed in order to not meaningfully corrupt the steering. That being said, the set looked awesome on my 2003 and I'm still in shock that I don't have that car anymore (wreck took place Sunday 6/20). I will admit that bumpsteer was always and issue on the 2003, and the CH wheel set up did exacerbate the problem some.
I may end up having to sell the wheels. They looked superb on my Brilliant Silver 2003 sedan and I think they would look killer on a 2007 as well (the CHs are just a clean and timeless design).
Now, if anyone can advise me as to where I can get my hands on a decent set of the factory sport wheels, that would be helpful.

I think you're over thinking this, its not that much of an offset difference. It's not even in the aggressive realm of things. You got the wheels, try it out on the new car, if you dont like the results, sell them. You can probably find sport wheels more easily on the myg37.com forums, craigslist (doubtful), and ebay.
Best of luck and take pictures to show it off.
