i'm looking into buying new wheels for my 04 g35, so i went to my local discount tire and talked to them about some that i like, but the salesman mentioned that the wheels i'm looking at weren't staggered, and that the rear wheel wouldn't fill out the wheel well as much
does anyone have non-staggered wheels that i could see some pictures of? or maybe some good comparison pics?

 

why would you do other wise? staggered FTMFW!!! Stock is even staggered.. why change it?.. also, screw the DT, buy some nice wheels from OUR marketplace...

I mean, it is all about personal style and preference, but IMO, I would definately try and get staggered. It is the majority opinion that one should get wheels that fill up the fender and try and get as flush as possible, but if u don't wanna spend the money or don't care about that, then just get non staggered...He!!, at least u could then rotate your tires....I went staggered, so no rotation for me. As it appears you haven't posted much on here, FYI, most prefer staggered and will prolly give u crap if you don't, but who cares, ur car, get what u like...

 

if you don't buy staggered can't you just add spacers, 25 and 20, to give the staggered apparence?

 

or u can also jus stagger the tires like wat they did with the 7 spoke wheel setup from the factory

 

can you post some pics with the spacers? and where would you pick those up from?
also, the guy mentioned switching my staggered tire over to the smaller, non-staggered wheel, but the tire would bow out some... how would that look?

That would look horrid by how you're describing it..but give us specifics. Rim size, width, offset? Tire size?

When it comes to whether you want the wheel to full the wheel well..it's not all about width. An 9.5 wheel with a +0 offset fills it in better than a 10.5 +20. The preference for running staggered wheels is because you can run a bigger tire size in the rear compare to the front and have it look the same.

IMO if you're shelling out the money to buy rims..do it right the first time and stagger it. Look in the private marketplace for some good deals on decent rims.

uh isn't that the wrong bolt pattern?

 

By the looks of those numbers, it looks like the wheels are 18x8 and have two bolt patterns, 5x100 and 5x114 and the offset is 35. Considering that stock wheels came in that size and had a lower offset (30mm), it doesn't sound like much of an upgrade. Does your G have 18's on it right now? If so, what are the tire sizes on it?

You can go non staggered (I have), but I went with 265/35/19 all around. If you're going to get new rims, you may as well get something wider, like 9" all around if you go non staggered. If you stay staggered, you can go 9" up front and 10" in the back no problem.

 

yeah i've got the 18 inch right now, and that tire size i put earlier is what i have now for the rear, the front is the same but 225/45

 

^^^^ Fully agree, wheel and tire set up is no place for mickey mouse games, if funds are short at the moment...***WAIT TILL THEY"RE NOT*** and get wheels of "G35 caliber." no one's got a gun to your head to buy wheels now, so wait on it, search around the forums and I promise you, you will definitely have a change of heart from non-staggered DT offerings. promise.

 

No. Your just pushing the wheel out. Doesnt give it a staggered look.

 

u can run a non-staggard. don't go to Discount Tire like someone said earlier. give yourself 2 to 3 months of research before buying wheels & tires. don't rush spending money on wheels/tires your not sure about.
