I've got a buddy at work with an IS300 that he's tricking out with K&N
intake, high-perf exhaust, etc. He also recently put on stiffer sway bars
(torsion bars). He said he didn't want to replace the springs because
1) he liked the suspension feel of the car and didn't really want it stiffer
and 2) he didn't want to put any additional wear and tear on his shocks.
He said the sway bars would reduce the body roll without compromising
the smooth feel of the suspension.

Is this true? I'd like to reduce the body roll but don't really want to ditch
the smooth ride - the roads in my area are too rough!

 

Sway bars and strut bars will reduce body roll for sure!! It feels like a 'point and shoot' type feel. Having aftermarket suspension will help even better, but you prefer a smooth ride. I know that the 350Z has a strut bar across the engine bay, but I don't know if they have it for the G35 coupe or sedan yet.
