Vossen VVS-087 Question(s)
IGNORE MODEL IN TITLE
Bit of a newbie here so bear with me...
I've got a stock 06 AT OB Coupe. Want to get body kit (all NISMO + custom trunk) OR tires/rims as the next step after the MD 5/16 spacer/iso. Not sure on a pop charger but from what I'm reading thats not necessary and not that great of mod on 06+.
Anyway am looking at the Vossen rims.
VVS-CV1 http://www.vossenwheels.com/vossen-wheels-vvscv1.html
VVS-085 http://www.vossenwheels.com/vossen-wheels-vvs085.html
VVS-078 http://www.vossenwheels.com/vossen-wheels-vvs078.html
Not sure what finish I should go for yet so any thoughts are appreciated.
Question is are these a good fit without and suspension mods or spacers? Also what offset should I go for? Am going for a more clean and good looking ride than for performance but do want some performance.
Any thoughts/help is appreciated. Thanks!

Are you willing to do the proper fender and suspension work when it comes to being just flush? Or are you trying for the hellaflush stance?
Edit: Here, let me point you to this template and it helped me choose out my offsets when I was shopping around for wheels.
http://rimtuck.com/thumbnails.php?ve...del=G35+coupe&
Pictures and all that other good stuff, with listed offsets and tire sizes.
And another side note: I like the VVSCV1 in Matte Black. I'm normally not a big fan of Vossen wheels, but out of the 3 that you have listed, I do like those the best.

Probably looking at just flush. I do drive this daily so a hellaflush and a few poor roads and its going to be a problem on the day to day basis. I can dodge some of them but not all of them due to where I work.
Nice avvy btw.
I'm liking the http://rimtuck.com/setup.php?id=611 , http://rimtuck.com/setup.php?id=531 , and http://rimtuck.com/setup.php?id=689 configurations. The VVSCV1 come in 20x9 (front) and 20x10.5 (rear) so not exactly the same to most of those 20x9.5 but close. Would of course need some adjustments to the spacer size I'd think? But I do notice a lot of them are heavily dropped. I do want to drop mine a little but am concerned that some of the roads I have to drive on for work will not be kind to a dropped car.
What are your thoughts on the spacers and suspension given any one of those configs?
By the way appreciate all the advice you've given me so far. Learned a lot even in the last few days.

Hey no problem at all. I don't mind helping, so long as it doesn't turn out that I'm giving you a hand out.
All three of those configurations that you posted are in the "aggressive" offsets... with the exception of the IP. It could be considered semi-aggressive since he's in the high single digits and then has a +23 in the rear, but I'd assume he'd be running at least a 15mm spacer in the rear judging from the picture.
As for the other two, Ralph (the Brilliant Silver) and CookieMonster (The DG) are both running aggressive set ups, at least aggressive in their time, and have stretched their tires, rolled their fenders, and running negative camber in order to be hellaflush.
Seeing as how you're really not going for that, I would recommend you staying in the low to mid teens. Maybe a +12 in the front and a +17 in the rear. It would probably suit your taste really well. For my own set up, I went +15 all around and I kind of want to run a 5mm spacer in the front to be a little bit more flush in the front, but other then that, it is perfect.
Even still tho, for the work that you'd have to do in order to make these fit properly, you would definitely need a rear fender roll, maybe not extremely flat but you would still need a roll nonetheless. The front, depending on your tire size, you won't need a roll but if you run a 35 series tire in the front with a low drop, you'll rub on the inside where the fender / front bumper mount bracket is at.
If Vossen offers those widths for the wheels you want, then I would say go for them. The front is at least 9" and I think that is a great width for the front. The rear is perfect too.
If I were to choose those sizes, I would run this configuration:
F: 20x9, +12 - 235/30 General UHP's
R: 20x10.5. +17 - 275/30 General UHP's
What do you plan on dropping your car on? Depending how low you wanna go, you'd need aftermarket camber arms as well, if you want to be in spec with toe and camber.

I checked my usual route to and the alternate route from work today... probably won't drop the car too much. I can easily from what I'm seeing do these wheels without redo'ing the suspension or camber. Don't have enough to necessarily do all of it at once and then could drop it or alter the suspension later.
With rolling the fenders I realize thats not something you should attempt yourself if you have no experience or knowledge of how to do it... so I really shouldn't do that myself. Is it necessary with that configuration you mentioned to roll the fenders? Or will that only become necessary after dropping it a bit?
Judging from other setups I wouldn't think it necessary but still new at this so I may be wrong. The wheel well's should be able to accommodate it in the front for sure. The rear might be more of an issue though with the bigger width.

There is a DIY on this forum that will show you how to do it. But if you're not comfortable with it, then you can just call around some shops and ask if they can do it for you. That's exactly what I did and I found a reputable shop locally in Houston that does outstanding work... on anything in general.
With the configuration I recommended to you, unless you do intend to drop it, you might not have to roll your rear fenders. I honestly would not have any experience on riding around on stock height for very long or having non-rolled fenders since I did my suspension and had my rears rolled all within a few days after purchasing my car.
The front fenders you can get away without rolling, since they already come pre-rolled at a 45 degree angle from the factory. The only issue you will have with the fronts is if you are dropped too low, your front tires will rub when your suspension shoots up when you're driving and hit small dips and bumps and stuff. That's the issue I'm working out right now. I had to pull my front fenders a little bit and get smaller tires.

Yea I work downtown so roads without bumps/holes are rare. I want to up the wheels/tires and that was a concern but go big or go home rite?
I'll check into that DIY.
Last question I think I'd have for now is where would you normally recommend buying the wheels (and/or tires) from? Ebay? Classifieds here or elsewhere? Internet in general?
The VSS-CV1 are relatively new as a model so I'm not figuring anyone would have them in the classifieds on here. Ebay shows a set with the 20x9 (2) and 20x10.5 (2) at $2k on ebay buy it now with the silver color. I'm hoping I can find them for a bit less and definitely in the matte black
There are some other sites that have them for about $1900 I think and I can get the tires there as well. I emailed Vossen and they said Discount Tire near me has them though their website actually doesn't list Vossen under wheels at all so that was odd. Will check there tomorrow.

I have nothing against eBay so if you wanna order them from eBay I would suggest you make sure that it is a legit seller.
But if it were me, I'd rather go through Discount Tire since they are most likely an authorized dealer from Vossen themselves. This way, if Discount Tire somehow messes up your order or your wheels or what not, then they are held responsible and it will be an easier situation to deal with since you can just go to their store or give them a call.
I would just go to Discount Tire and ask them to see if they can order from Vossen for you.
