I want to rotate staggered wheels

Here's the deal, I have a set of stock 07 S sedan staggered wheels with winter tires on them. I'll be putting them on as soon as it starts snowing.

Even though the wheels are staggered, the tires are 225/50/18 all around.

The problem is that the tires on the rear wheels are down to 30% thread, while the front ones have 50+ %. I dont want to pay $100+ to have the tires remounted. Can I just put the rear wheels on the front? What kinda issues would that cause?

you can't rotate staggered wheels unless they are not directional. Check your tires if they have an arrow with a direction pointing which way the rotation is

I wouldn't cross rotate them. I would swap the front left and rear left wheel. And do the same thing with the right side.

no front to back swapping if you're staggered. only side to side if you aren't running directional tires. nuff said.

Ok maybe Im lost but how can wheels be a staggered size if the tires are the same size all the way around? I have staggered wheels on mine and the tire sizes are different.

The wheels are staggered, not the tires..... You dont have to run wider tires on a wider rim. He can be running 225 on an 18x8 and an 18x9, the wider rim will have more of a stretched look though. The offset are more than likely different, so if you put the wider rim on the front its gonna stick out too far and just the opposite for the rear.

ok... Just wondering because I have the same stock '07 Sedan S wheels and never thought of using the same size tires on front and back... I though they recommended different size tires for a good reason, not just a suggestion.

Yes you can put the rear wheels on the front without any issues. I used to do it with my OEM Rays all the time. Just remove that useless bolt on the front hubs and you'll be good.

They are not the same size from factory. The rims are wider as the tires are a diff size. 225/50 and 245/45.

^The OP already stated that all the tires are the same size. When I ran with all 4 tires the same size, I had no issues with moving the wheels around.

You might get away with swaping backs to fronts since you're running the same size tires, be aware the hubs/lugs are different length front to back.

the RIMS are a different size. If you have the S wheels, the rear RIMS are wider. So even if you did take the front 12mm bolts out to rotate them, it would look retarded if you looked at it close enough....just makes me think of a fwd car with drag slicks on the front. lol
