Car wont stay straight...

Lately I have been noticing on the highway that my car wont stay in a straight line. The pull or drift if you may is slight but its enough to require me to make frequent steering adjustments to keep the car straight. The car doesnt seem to favor the right or left, but both directions. Anyone else have this same issue, if so how did you cure it?
Thanks,
Luke

There is a TSB that covers this. Dealer will correct w/ alignment.

Is alignment covered under the warranty?

If there is a TSB, then yes, the dealer will take care of the costs.

This is the tsb that will be covered by the dealer, an alignment is not part of the tsb so it will not be covered.
Your case sounds more like an alignment issue so it would not be covered.

Of course your dealer will have the last word on all this. The link I sent you is more for information than diagnosis.

Hope it helps.

Re: Car wont stay straight...

I had my car in last week for an oil change and some warranty work. I also had a drift in my car, however it was always to the right. After talking with the service manager (and driving the car with him) he agreed to do the TSB since my car clearly had the drift right problem.

One thing to mention, even though your car is drifting in both directions take notice to when this occurs. Most people forget about the concave shape of our US roadways. It is somewhat normal to be slightly nudged to the right when in the left lane and ok to go slightly left when in the right lane.

The service manager and I went on a local highway, stayed in the right lane to test for the TSB. The car made it's way to the right as it always does at highway speed. That was all the proof he needed to perform the TSB (Ray Catena in NJ).

Hope this helped.

Noticed same thing after going from the stock 17's to the 19's. The shop that intalled them swears they did an alignment. Looks like maybe they need to recheck their work, I thought it may be an unfortunate downfall to the change although it makes no sense the change would cause the issue.

Re: Car wont stay straight...

speedeezx- I can tell you that frequently alignment places
make the settings worse. It's not just from the people and
equipment, some cars just need a little more bias whether
it be toe or camber to make them drive straight. I can say
'perfect' on the charts, but could still track right or left.

But, why would they align after installing 19's? Did you
lower your car?
