2008 G35x Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Greetings,
I am looking for some feedback/advice on altering the OEM tire size to accommodate these tires. They are not available in the 225/55R17 size. The closest revolutions per mile size are: 235/55ZR17(767 RPM), 235/50ZR17(793RPM) and the 245/50ZR17(793RPM). The OEM tire was 778 Revs/mile. I want to use the stock rims which are 7.5" wide.
My concerns: Will the change in tire size degrade the handling/dynamics of the car? Will the tires clear the fenders adequately to avoid rub? Will there be a negative impact with the turning radius from the wider tires rubing in the wheel wells?
Has anyone made a similiar change and if so what do you think?
Any comments from Neil at the tire rack will be appreciated as well.
Thanks,
