20" Rims set-up Need help

Hello All thanks in advance for your input.

I'm thinking of getting one of the following set-ups for my 04 G35 with Brembos.

The offsets they offer for these two rim set-up is as follows. Same tire size will be used on either one.

Status Knight
20x8.5 +20 (245/35/20)
20x10 +45 (275/30/20)

Vertini Fairlady
20x8.5 +20
20x10 +25

My question is how much lip will I have in both front/rear rims? I did look at the offset calculator and the rear looks like it wont have much lip but that calculator is greek to me.

2nd question is how close will this set-up be underneath the fender? I do plan on lowering it an 1" or so in the future.

3rd question which set-up would look much clearner?

My last question is what is the typical offset on 20'. From the research I gather on here looks like +20 front and +20 rear a little help would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks again!

After a quick search the rear lip is 4'' for both wheels.

Knights will be tucking in the rear.
Fairladys will be decent. Both sets won't be aggressive if thats what you want. Of those two though, the fairladys are the most "aggressive."

Not a fan of either wheels but if I had to chose I'd get the Vertinis

Typical offset varies on brand, wheel, etc. Might want to check into spacers if you're looking for aggressive offsets with these wheels unless you can custom order them.

1. Not sure how big of a lip you'll have. For me, I've never cared for lip sizes, but if it were between those 2 sets of wheels, I'd pick the second one based only on the better offsets it has. But in all honesty, I wouldn't pick those two wheels at all. That is just my opinion.

2. +20 offsets will be kind of flush and you'll be close to the fender, but at stock height you won't need a fender roll. Once you lower tho, you will need a roll in the rear or your tires will rub on it.

3. I don't like either wheels, so that choice is based on your decision and your decision only.

4. Depends on what look you want to go with. There isn't a "standard" offset for 20's or an official rule book, it is what kind of look you want. If you're into the whole stance scene, then do some research on what you need to do to achieve that look. If you just want something that sits nice and even and doesn't require you to run -4 degrees of negative camber, then stick with the mid-teens to low 20's in offsets and you'll be golden.

First things first, there is no such thing as "typical offset." If you want it to look good, the lower the offset the better. On a 9.5 and 10.5 setup, offsets in the 20s or high teens look okay, but they fit a g well without modification. With slimmer wheels like 8.5 and 10 rear you really need to start getting the offsets lower to counteract the slimness of the wheel. Therefore, Those widths will disappoint you if you want the wheel to fill the wheel well and sit flush with the fender. Unless you're going to run very large spacers all around to make the wheel sit flush. In conclusion, I would definitely go with the vertini wheel because it comes with lower offsets, 20x10 +45 will look terrible on coupe, it will tuck...a lot. get the vertini's and get 15-20 mm spaces all around and stretch the tire if you have to eventually, theres no hope for the other wheel

I would highly suggest looking into another wheel brand, I'm a die hard Work wheels fan, if only because you can sit there and pick the offset millimeter by millimeter and won't have to touch spacers in your life.

Thanks for the fast response and your opinions, well noted. Will keep it in the +20 for sure. Im not trying to get agressive with the rims just want something that will sit almost flush with the fenders. There are a few other rims Im looking at, but this will help me steer in the right direction. This help me tremendously with offsets. Thanks again!!
