Rubbing options up front???
I just put these on over the weekend. I'm running 255/35/20 up front and 285/30/20 in the rear and the the fronts sound like they are rubbing the fender liners when i go over bumps or go up the drive way. What are my options? Should I change the fronts to 255/30/20's which would be closer to the 225/19/40 diameter, up front? Would rolling or flaring fenders help any?

You need to figure out what it's rubbing
255/35 is a very weird tire size imo.
I would run 245/35 and maybe pinch your fenders. Look into the eastwood fender finisher, it's like $60 and it will basically flatten your front fenders (still need to use heat)
With that, you shouldn't be rubbing but give me some more info on the wheels.
Offset, widths?

Thanks for the feedback. The wheels are Volks GT30s; Front: 20x9.5 +23; Rear: 20x10.5 +24. Yeah, I'm not sure what's rubbing but it sounds like the tire is rubbing the liner. I'm having issues in the rear but i can see where the tire is rubbing and know I'll have to roll the rears. I'll probably take it back to the shop and see if they can figure it out what's happening up front.

I'm on springs, Tein H-techs...I just found this thread...https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...cs-come-3.html. I should not have listened to the guy at the shop and go with 255/30/20 which was my initial choice. I'll be calling them in the am.
Thanks

Yea, I use to work in a shop and I would have countless guys phone me with these weird off tire sizes and say "oh well these guys told me this is best for this and that" and it usually gave my head a spin with some of the stuff that tire shops told these people.
255s are pretty much always more money than 245 and 265. It's just a really weird number for some reason. If you look at tire sites, there is actually only a handful of companies that make tires in that tread width.. and they are usually the expensive tires. (Potenzas, proxy, Conti ect)
Good luck!

Im running the exact same sizes. I rub like mad in the front. But Im tucking the tires, youre not. Ive got my fenders rolled flat in the front, rear lips I cut off. I still rub on the inner fender liner up front. Ive just learned to live with it. Rolling will definitely help with rubbing but not alleviate it if its the liners your tire is hitting.
Im actually putting my 255s on the rear(since they arent wearing at all, and my rears only lasted a year) this winter and buying new 225s for up front for more of a stretch. I love the look of a 285 on these cars but after doing it for a year Id rather switch to a mild stretch and push the wheels out further.
