Falken or Sumitomo Tires

Are they about the same as in quality and price?

My friend just bought a set of XIX wheels and he was supposed to have Falkens installed (per the work order), but when he drove to my house, I realized it was Sumitomo HTR instead of Falkens.

So I am curious if I should tell him to go back and change it to Falkens. If they're both about the same in quality and price. Then i guess it's okay.

I have those HTR III on my car right now. I could be wrong but isn't sumitomo more expensive? I really like these tires a lot!

He got them in 19s. He paid for 19" XIX wheels with Falken Tires. It even said on paper that it's Falken tires, but when he drove to my house, all i saw was Sumitomo.

I guess unless Sumitomo is better than Falken, then i guess it's all for the better. I just never heard of Sumitomo before and I don't want my friend to get ripped off.

Well, are you going to stick w/ those tires again or go different? Or go to another dealer for them?

I have a good friend (fellow Gdriver) who works at ATC who would prolly hook me up...and im thinking i'll just get new rims/tires when these go...im tired of stockers :P but they really are nice tires, not to much road noise, they grip well in dry weather, pretty good tread life, so i'm happy i may go with sumitomo on my new rims if i can get a decent deal on them.

well, if your friend is going to hook it up then i am sure you'll get that deal you want. If i had the money, yokohama would have been it. but i am happy w/ sumitomo and i'll get another set.

same here, i heard premature wear & un even wear for a few of my friends, although that could be their driving style and alignment but my brother who drives like an 85 year old woman got 30k miles on his falkens.
