It just gets old when you see people try to join in a discussion and somebody else feels they need to belittle them for not knowing everything about the car, there is no call for that and it just shows a great deal of immaturity (sorry maybe at 41 years of age I am simply too mature for this forum since it seems to be dominated by 20 somethings).

I did learn something new however, I was not aware of the orange stitching on the wheel being an indicator of the sports pack (so thank you for that bit of info).

I would bet that somewhere out there somebody has that steering wheel that does not have the entire sport package (meaning trim/body, rims/tires and suspension) so technically they would not have the sport 'package' either. It's like there is a sport 'handling' option and a sport 'body trim/kit' option, logically both combined would be the sport 'package'.

Take Care,
Jason

Jason, long live us old guys eh? (I'm 48)

There are a lot of young uns on here and the forum has shifted lately into more of a social network. However, don't let that discourage you from looking around as Driver is the premiere resource for all things G on the internet.

I think you have gotten confused by the terminology of the packages. From infinitihelp.com "Leading the changes for 2005 is the more powerful G35 Coupe 6MT model with a 298-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6, an increase of 18 horsepower over the G35 Coupe model?s standard 280-horsepower rating. A new Sport-Tuned Suspension Package with 19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD), drilled aluminum pedals and unique sport steering wheel is offered with the 5-speed automatic transmission equipped G35 Coupe model. The Sport-Tuned Suspension Package equipment is included as standard equipment on the G35 Coupe 6MT....The suspension tuning of the Sport-Tuned Suspension Package (standard on the G35 Coupe 6MT) is more aggressive than the G35 Coupe model, with stiffer spring and shocks and larger diameter stabilizer bars."

"The G35 Coupe 6MT and Sport-Tuned Suspension Package equipped models offer 5-spoke, 19-inch polished aluminum-alloy wheels with P225/40WR19 tires in front and P245/40WR19 tires in the rear. The Sport-Tuned Suspension Package also adds a standard Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VSLD) (also available in the Performance Tire and Wheel Package)....A number of optional packages are offered, including the previously detailed Sport-Tuned Suspension Package. The Premium Package includes sunroof, Bose audio system, power tilt and telescopic steering, dual HVAC controls, auto on/off headlights, HomeLink Universal Transceiver, and automatic anti-glare rearview mirror.

Other packages include the Performance Tire & Wheel Package (G35 Coupe model only) with 18-inch wheels and tires and VLSD; and the Aero Package with rear spoiler and side diffusers. Individually available options include the sunroof, Infiniti Navigation System (available with Premium Package), and genuine Rosewood trim (available with the Premium Package beginning with February 2005 production)."

All of this was found at http://infinitihelp.com/models/2005/g35_coupe/ and applies to 05 coupes. Hope this helps clear up any confusion on what you have. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions in the future.

Blue Dream,

Thank you for that very polite and in depth explanation/clarification, I was obviously unaware of all those differences.

So now I know that I have the Aero package and the Premium package .

Most appreciated,
Jason

I have only owned the car for less than 2 months and have only what I read or I am told by the dealer to go by, the infiniti dealer said it had the sports body pack (I have the wing also). To me the term package means just that, it's a package and not an individual option. This is why I thought it was a little odd that I only have part of the sports package.

I see a fairly poor attitude here over-all and some of you enthusiasts take yourselves a bit too serious , the idea here is supposed to be a public forum where fellow G owners are made to feel welcome and not punted away or laughed at because they don't know everything there is to know about the car. You were all G35 ignorant at some point and had to learn it so try to be a bit more forgiving to those that are interested in learning about the car, which is why most of us are here.

Jason
I wasn't trying to come across as serious or negative. I don't think your original post was all that ignorant. Trust me, people do ask some REALLY dumb questions around here, and per the majority of internet forums, you tend to get flamed for things like that. Anyways, welcome to the forum and you're right that everyone was "G35 ignorant" at some point. My advice is to search around and learn for awhile before posting dumb questions/things that have been covered ad nauseum previously and that's the easiest way to avoid criticism from others. Not that I'm accusing you of such things.
