Wheels and tires

After all the looking and searching I have finally found the rims that have called out to me.Now I need some advice. These will be going on a sedan.
Rims are 18 x7.5
Question is what offset would be best they are offered in 35, 42, and 48mm and staggering is not an option.
Also the package comes with 225/40/18 tires, should I pay the extra $200 to upgrade to 245/45/18 tires.
Also will either of these tire configurations change my ECU for the traction control? Thanks

Re: Wheels and tires

I just put new wheels and tires on my sedan.
18x8's w/ 40mm offsets. 245/45-18 Goodyear GS-D3's. Fit perfectly. The 35 or 42 would work with a 7 1/2" wheel.

smokeator - i'm not sure if you can put 245's on a 7.5" safely. depends on the maufacturer specs of that specific line. but usually a 245 must go on a 8" or greater. you might do a little better with a 225/45 which is a little smaller, but still good, or a 235/45, which is virtually the exact size of oem, but the tires are expensive.
