Stretching tires 1 Inch

I have a 2004 G35x Premium Package.

It is my understanding that my wheels are 17" with a 5x114.3 lug pattern and that they are 17x7 inches.

I found some wheels that are 17x8, would it be possible to put my current tires on those wheels? If so, would I experience any problems with tire wear or anything else?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

1 inch isn't a big deal - I assume you have something like a 215 or 225 width tire? Those are fine on an 8. You shouldn't incur extra wear or anything - if anything, you should probably get some better steering response.

Okay thanks for the responses guys.

Yes i do have 225's on my stock wheels right now.
Would a normal place like NTB or WalMart be able to put them on or would they not be capable of / allowed to stretch tires?

Thanks again!

yes they will be able to put them on. 225 on an 8 inch is not going to be stretched at all
