Suspension drop? Why is the back lower.
Suspension drop? Why is the back lower.
I have noticed on alot of people's cars that when it's dropped the rear seems to sit lower than the front.
I know that a full tank of gas could add the weight to make it drop a little lower. But would the suspension still be lower in the rear without the extra weight?
The reason I ask is that I have always liked the look of a car with the front lower, giving it a rake towards the front.
thanks

Re: Suspension drop? Why is the back lower.
it depends on what springs you use. If you notice with stock suspension the front has a bigger gap. I guess that's just how they balanced the car.
Re: Suspension drop? Why is the back lower.
I believe that the larger wheel well gap in the front [on the stock setup] is due to Nissan trying to give more clearance for people who are making turns and are going over a large bump [or curb]. So unless the aftermarket springs take the larger wheel well gap into consideration, after the install the front well gap will still more than the rear.

If you look at your car and every other car on the side from a distance... You'll notice that the back wheel fenders are lower than the front... It may look like the back is lower but it's really even...

Yeah, it depends on a lot of things. Usually, keeping a dead body in the trunk will make it sit lower in the back. j/k
Seriously, cars in general will have higher fender well gap up front as opposed to the rear. So, when cars are lowered at the same height front and rear, it appears the car sits lower in the rear but the car is level. If you prefer to have equal fender well gap all the way around with a slight "rake" look up front, then get springs that have slightly more drop up front or get a full coilover suspension that will allow for custom height adjustments.

Most of the Tein suspensions are designed to drop the car more in the front than the rear if thats the look you want. My coupe on H-Techs:

DG/G 6MT coupe, Borla exhaust, Stillen intake w/Z tube, H-Tech, Hotchkis Sways, 19" TE-37's

are those the H-techs for the 350z or for the g35c? Did you have to get a camber kit?

That's correct - the drop is even but the wheel well height difference makes it look like the *** is sagging.
That's why it's always recommended to drop the car slightly more in the front, unless you like it looking all saggy in the rear.
