Need Tires For New Volk GT-7s But Im Dumb...Help Please??
Hello,
I am not on the forum much, I find that because I don't know nearly as much about simple stuff as every other member, I feel stupid when I post easy stuff among all of you.
I have no choice right now and it's time for my stupid question among the masters of this stuff.
I was lucky enough to find a brand new set of Volk GT-7s in diamond black, so I bought them. I own a 2006 G35 Coupe that came with factory 19s. I need to know what the best size tires would be to go with on my new Volks. I want an aggressive look, but don't want to be rubbing my fenders. I don't want to roll my fenders, nor do I want the stretched look at all. I just want to make sure I can get tires and have them fit in the wheel wells.
My wheels are the following sizes.....
19x8.5 +46 Front
19x9.5 +40 Rear
I know nothing about tire sizes and even less about how to deal with these offsets. I am not sure the size of tires to get...I was thinking
235/35R19 Front
275/35R19 Rear
Will these sizes fit and will they look right? Could I go wider like a 285 on the rear?....I am such an idiot when it comes to this stuff....please help? Thanks guys........

OMG those offsets are weaksauce even for a sedan. They will look more sunken than your OEM wheels. You will need 25-30mm spacers for anything close to the decent fitment. As far as your tires, I'd go with 245/40/19's up front and 275/35/19's in the rear.
IMO you should just resell them and find some F9.5 and R10.5 set up with about +15-20et for good fitment.

Yeah see....I don't know the first thing about what the offsets mean. I just really liked the looks of the GT-7s in diamond black, and since being discontinued, they have been rather hard for a guy living in Missouri to find. When I do find a set, they are in SOCAL and nobody is willing to ship. That is why I jumped on this set.
My 06 G Coupe was the sport package with every option possible for an auto...and yes, I got an auto....I am a yuppy, not a racer....yet I don't believe it came with Brembos...just normal silver colored brakes, not red or gold like I have seen the Brembos around.
Well thanks for the heads up my friend....Absolutely not the answers I wanted, very depressing actually, but I am very appreciative none the less for your help.

To answer your question, you can go bigger with 285 in the rear, but like the guy that mentioned above the offsets on these wheels are extremely weak. Once you have them on, you might be disappointed :/

By all means, you can still run these on the coupe but you will need spacers on all 4 corners. Not only that, they would look pretty funny since they are only 8.5 and 9.5 wide.
