My wonderful experience with DPE thus far....... not

If you check out myg37 you probably have already my thread over there about this. I would also like to point out that the rep on this forum, Royal_T, is not to blame for any of this, he has actually been trying to help me.

I'm just going to air this out because I am starting to get infuriated with them. I ordered my wheels directly through DPE because there are no dealers in my area so they gave me the discounted price dealers give. After paying for half the wheels and giving them the brake diagram for the AP Racing 6 pot brakes, my order technically started on April 25 (I paid on April 22). I was told that my order should take 4-6 weeks to complete. I got a call from them on May 27 to let me know that my wheels should be shipped out the following Friday, June 3. I e-mailed them again on June 6 to ask if my wheels were going to be shipped out since I didn't hear from them on Friday. I was told that my wheels were in the "final stages" of being finished. I e-mailed them again on June 15 to find out if they were done yet and I still have yet to get an answer. Right now I got Royal_T from my350z/g35driver to help me out to get in contact with the person I was working with (Royal_T wasn't who I went through, he is being nice and trying to help me out since he is a rep now). Right now it has been 8 weeks since my order. I'm getting kind off pissed at the situation. In all honesty, I wouldn't be so mad if they didn't call me and tell me when they SHOULD have been shipped. Also doesn't help that the order time they told me has now gone over. I did not order something insane, just matte black centers w/ polished lips and the inner barrel done in silver. My guess is they didn't even start on them. If they didn't, I'm cancelling my order and going with VIP Modular. I'll update once I find something else out.

And here I thought they were done with this crap with late shipments......

DPE is well known for screwing people on delivery times, but if you think going to VIP modular means your going to get the wheels quicker and better.

HAHAHAHAHAHA no.

Good luck with everything.

I received mine after 13 weeks when I was told 8 weeks. Shiit happens.

Imagine if you ordered Work wheels and waited over a year.

EDIT: FWIW. One of the reasons I waited so long was the fact that the powdercoating wasn't up to par according to one of the owners. I'd rather wait for perfection than expedite mediocrity.

no, cause he reiterated he cut the centers to what I wanted since I did custom offsets, not built to what they want since my sedan doesnt come with the BBK if they cut them to that spec

To be honest Wheels take time to get built.. That's on any order.. I had to wait almost 3 months to get Works from Japan.. you have to remember Special orders like this take time.. that's just the nature of the beast.. deal with it.

/\ exactly

custom built wheels take time chief... sorry for your ordeal, but the times vendors provide are estimates.

My Work wheels took 12 weeks instead of the 6-8 i was quoted. It is what it is.

i understand you
communcation from the manufacturer or vendor with updates is what you wanted , you wanted to be made aware of any delays or issues that arise asap

your right

Perhaps as said before, they made a mistake... Have you never made a mistake?

I can understand your frustration, but in the grand scheme of things - oh well, suck it up, you ordered custom wheels, it's taking longer than you thought, and the vendors communication could use improvement. we get it, but there is no use crying over spilled milk.

I am sure that you are not the only customer of DPE and it is nice to feel and be treated like you are an important customer to a vendor however many companies have lost touch with that, and the wheels are not cheap so it's frustrating to spend your money and be treated like crap (in your eyes), but your one set of wheels is not what keeps DPE in business...

With what he has said, it's pretty hard to make a mistake like that and you'd have to be a pretty scattered company to screw something like that up.

As said before, this is far from the first time DPE has ****ed people around on delivery date. They're American made and they still can't keep it together.
