Falken 452 Review

Hey Guys,

So I just put on my new tires yesterday, 245/48/18's on coupe 18's on my G35 sedan. Before I get into the review, I just wanted to say that I purchased these on a suggestion, and after reading up on them after purchasing them, I was awfully worried. I read lots of bad reviews about vibrations and road noise.

So after getting my wheels mounted and balanced, I have to say I am very pleased with these tires. They're very smooth and don't make much road noise at all. I haven't really attempted any hard cornering yet, but I'm sure I will soon I had Sumitomo's before.

We'll see if the road noise or vibrations come after some mileage is put on them, but as for now I'm very pleased! I was considering Hankook V12's also, but they have squishy sidewalls, and I'm not down for that. Continental DW's are out of my price range

I've had those tires before. not a bad tire but I wouldn't accelerate too hard through corners or or freeway on ramps with them.

Hopefully you don't get the raging tire vibration that most get.
It usually comes on between 10-30 mph.
Especially bad during braking.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Here's my .02. I've run Federal SS 595 (great looking tread, crap tire), Kuhmo SPTs ( decent tire but prone to feathering), Hankook V12 (favorite tire in this price range), and the Falken 452s on my G.

The Falkens will impress you for a couple of thousand miles, then the issues start. They will get harder and harder as they age and become quite loud. Your grip will start to deteriorate after a few thousand miles and if you are slightly out of spec in either camber, toe, or both these tires feather like a **** and do it quickly. Not to mention the accounts on here of tread separation on several member's cars.

Remember you are not going to get an awesome tire for $200 so all of the tires in this price range will have their plusses and negatives. IMHO the Hankooks have fewer negatives than the rest of the crowd, and the soft sidewall issue can be helped by adding a few more pounds of air pressure. Sorry to drop the hammer like this after you've already bought them, just wanted to share my experiences for others to consider.

Yeah just had an issue with mine. It went flat and then blew out the sidewall before i could pull over and at 35 on an almost new tire.

i definitely hear you. i should have listened to my gut instinct and went with the hankooks..i work for a wheel manufacturer that sells wheel and tire packages and the hankooks are our #1 seller.
