hit a pothole are these a done deal

I really do not go on this site much cause i drive an 03 i35 but anyway i hit a big pothole three nights ago. It was pretty dark out and the road was a little wet so i was unable to see the pothole. I brought my 18x8 volk gts wheel to wheels america in Philadelphia and these guys were too scared to fix this wheel. I do not see a crack at all but many techs have told me that the wheel is a done deal. I was even told that i need a new wheel barrel. Does anyone know where i can get this wheel fixed? I can not find a spare so my only choice is to get this wheel repaired. Text me at 281-248-7641 if you know a shop. thanks

And since no one seems to answer if they are salvagable....I'd say they are done bud :-/ Hard to get forged wheels back from that condition.....

I forgot to mention that the tire on this wheel are still holding air and did not lose any air at all which is odd.

Pretty nasty bend. They're essentially finished. Time to start looking for another barrel. Sorry this happened to you man.

If only you lived in Miami. There is a shop out here that handles any kind of damage. All rim shops send the customers there. Theyre very well known out here. This Rim can def be fixed. Look what happened to mine and they repaired it for $150. My lip was dented nasty and a bit cracked. I was close to buying a new Rim and didnt have too

^ no one is saying a shop cant bend it back and repaint the damage.....the problem is it's unsafe to do such a thing.

You can plug a tire with a puncture in its sidewall too.... but it doesn't mean it's safe considering it'll eventually blow out one day when your driving your kids to school on the highway...ect

Actually a lot of places would not do this kind of work because they don't know how to or do not have the proper equipment. They also wouldn't repair it if were unsafe. Speaking from experience, it's perfectly safe. Been riding on that rim for about 2.5 years now. Tires and Rims are two different things.
