Any good? They really don't seem too bad, seems like alot of professional drifters like them, so they can't be that bad and I especially like the value factor of it...here's some links...

I think I might get some just to see how they turn out...I know...I'm cheap but hey I bought a G35c because of its value...and I think these tires are an excellent value after reading all the reviews and whatnot

 

people (drifters/racers/the norm) refer to them as a good cheap tire. meaning, they are good performance wise for the time being. not sure if that helps much but i see it as how i'd rather run kumho's than nitto's.

 

Looking at a set of Federal SS595 tires right now. I may pull the trigger just for the experience and to report performance. It also helps that I'm job hunting and on a pretty tight budget.

I had them on my 240 sized 235/40-18 & 265/35-18 and I liked them a lot. I'm not a drifter either. They have nice large shoulder blocks and do extremely well in the rain. i found them to be quite grippy for their treadwear range, not to pricey, and not noisey.

Only problem I see with regards to our cars is that they dont really come any bigger than a 265/35-18 unless that has changed.

If you want a less rain oriented tread the 595-evo is their more dry-surface friendly tire. I had them and I liked them and I would get them again if only they came in a 40-series 275-18.

 

Unless I'm thinking a different tire company, Federals are like the Taiwanese Dunlops... supposedly the same compounds, similar manufacturing process, different design. I could be wrong though, and I would never want to put them on my car, but I have a friend who swears they are great tires.

i was looking into them as an OEM replacement for my 19"s but they don't have the correct front tire size. another worthy alternative cheap oem size replacement would come from the Vredestain Ultrac Sessanta. these tires seem promising as well.

 

I would rate them the same as Sumitomo, Hankook, and Kumho. They just dont have as broad a range of tires/sizes or as large marketing campaigns.

I would say they are nothing like companies such as Nangang or Nexon etc. The frederals are just an affordable well performing tire. For aggressively street driven cars, i havent met anyone who hasn't liked them (aside from people who obviously wanted more out of them).

I'd say they're ideal for someone seeking an affordable and sporty tire that has a great treadwear and grip levels in both dry and wet for its price range.

If you're looking to do well at an auto-x or track day, this isnt the tire for you! IMO its a tire meant for the streets not for racing (that would be the 595-RS).

 

I have a set of 595's on my G and have been happy with them. They have decent dry grip and very good wet grip. Treadwear seems to be quite decent as well - I would recommend them.
