plz suggest winter tires & rims

Hi,

My G35 coupe has enkei lsr rims and nanking ns-2(sports) tires. As winter is approaching, I'm thinking to change tires or both rims&tires.

Can you please suggest
whether I should change only tires? or both rims and tires?
what are the cost effective winter tires and rims I should use?

Note: I don't have manufacture rims with me now

I think you're going to have to get rims. Blizzacks seems to be the most popular snow tires. On Tire rack you can get rims and 17" blizzacks for like $1000

Used 17in 350z rims and Bridgestone Blizzak Tires. It's the only suggestion that repeatedly comes up. Do this/close thread.

Run the blizzaks in summer as well, they're much better than the petrified dog **** you have on there now.

Yes, I know from experience.

I think it is prolly best to change both rims and tires together. That way when the time comes to change you just take off one set of wheels and put on the other. Plus removing a tire over and over will ruin the bead on the tire

Do people really need to do a /sarcasm these days?

It's a comment as to the worthlessness of the tires you have on.

No, I don't recommend running Blizzaks in summer.

First, running a dedicated snow tire in the summer is a bad idea from a wear and handling standpoint. I wouldn't wear a pair of hiking boots to play basketball in just as I wouldn't drive a winter tire in summer/summer tire in winter.

Blizzaks work well in deeper snow/harsher snow climates. Michelin's X-Ice XI2 handles a bit better on dry roads and does quite well on ice. You can see a full list of winter items we carry at the following link Winter Options
