Making a "thud" noise on an interval ...
Okay so, I just replaced the front tires, and about a month or so ago replaced the back. On our way from Michigan to Florida (about half way - and after the NEW back tires) the car very quietly made a thud noise. As soon as we hit Florida the thud was much worse and had continued to grow here and there after long stops.
Once we got back into Florida I replaced the front tires.
My question is what this could be?
a - could it be off balance due to there being a slight amount of mud in the rear tires?
b - bad alignment?
c - hub assembly - (which is thought by the owner of the car)
d - transmission / clutch - thought by a worker at tire kingdom.
(more on that I was told that since we traveled dirt roads daily for 3 months that there was just so much dirt in the transmission that it messed everything up and that's why it makes a thud noise as well as a faster clink noise - which has been going on for months when the clutch is not pushed down) Now I did not know this was possible..
Thoughts? I don't want to pour money 7 different ways for it to be something else..
