I need help choosing suspension for my G!! (pics)

After some suspension research for the G35 Coupe, I've narrowed my search down to two things. I want less than 1/2 inch drop in the rear and about 3/4 inch drop in the front. I'm also looking for less roll in my turns, so does that mean I need more stiffness in my springs or coil-overs? Higher spring rate? If I decide coil-overs, is there a required drop of at least 1 inch? I need a subtle drop due to my low offset tires that may rub or require fender work (see pics). Any info will help.

Well, I can't tell you how important it is to research whatever amount it takes to avoid making the wrong choice with tire and wheel specs. If you can rub at any point in the entire suspension's travel range, lowering will make that more likely. Now since it's likely just a rear clearance issue, see about rolling the rear fender lips. If that doesn't work, either learn to live with the rubbing, hold off on lowering til you can go to a narrower rear tire, or sell the setup alltogether.

You can control body roll in two way's, use stiffer sway bars, or install stiffer springs. Yes one can argue that as you go up in spring stiffness, you will increase the likelyhood that you will keep those tire's from rubbing. But don't get caught up into thinking that way, get the suspension that you can actually live with for your needs, not your anti tire rubbing needs.

Looking at Tein's spec page, it looks like either the Basic coilovers or the Flex coilovers can be adjusted to give the drop amounts your asking for. Keep in mind that the two setups differ quite a bit in ride and drive stiffness.

Tein Basic
spring rates in lbs504/504 stiffer then oem F+61% R+43%
Transfers +18% roll stiffness to front

Tein Flex
spring rates in lbs 672/672 stiffer then oem F+114% R+98
Transfers +16% roll stiffness to front

Another setup to consider would be Tein H-tech springs ment for the 350Z. They should drop your coupe .8"/.7", add on either Koni shocks ($619) or Tokico D-spec shocks ($499).

Tein H-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
spring rates in lbs 358/375 stiffer then oem F+14% R+11%
Transfers +3% roll stiffness to front

After reading several threads on the lowering / springs G35 issue, isn't there always camber adjustment problems after the install of springs and coilovers? Then, additional suspension parts and installs are required to get alignment back to factory specs.

The rear will end up at about -3 camber after a 1.2" lowering, so you might be okay.
The front on your car looks like it might not rub.. Are those 245/35's?

Thanks for the good info. So far my research is molding into something. Does anybody know the spring rate of the G35 Coupe OEM springs?

According to previous posts I've read about springs (probably the very knowledgeable Gsedan35), the Z and the G (coupe) run on 314 lb/in springs in front and 342 lb/in springs in the rear.

A little off topic if you don't mind. Are those Racing Hart C4 wheels on your coupe? If they are, do you know how they compare weight wise to the Volk SF Winnings in the same configuration?

Sorry Giz, I have no idea how much these weigh, let a lone compare to Volks. I think they're considered heavier than most, since they are multipiece and have all those extra rivets.

the Volks are probably 3-4+ lbs lighter per wheel - I think I've read somewhere that the Volks are around 23 lbs a piece for the 9.5's...
