odd rubbing in front (only one side)
odd rubbing in front (only one side)
I'm rubbing my front passenger side bumper bracket on big dips and bumps, but my front driver side is perfect. I'm currently running 20x9.5 wheels with a -7 offset wrapped in Hankook 225/35/20. Like I said, left is perfect, but right side rubs on the bumper bracket by the sidemarker. I got an alignment a couple weeks ago, and I'm at 0 toe and about -1.6 camber on the side that rubs, and about -1.1 on the side that clears. I'm running on HKS coils, and I have it set right above the tire. I also recently got the front rolled and pulled, but that doesn't really affect the bumper bracket placement.
I trimmed it down some, but it's still rubbing. Is it safe to just cut it off completly? What other suggestions do you have?

i don't know how much more of the bracket I can trim before i lose the use of the screw. i think i heard somewhere that people relocate the tab to give more clearance.
if you can take pic i can help you i had the same problem to but take some pics so i know what ur talking about so it can make it easier for me to help you is it cutting ur tires ?

Get the grinder out and grind it off.
Also correct your camber, you have about 3mm offset change due to that .5 degree of camber. 3mm can make the biggest difference when the suspension travels.

but why am i having the issue with the side with the more negative camber than the side with less? i'll keep grinding tomorrow.
i was just doing some research, and people with other different cars have also experienced similar issues. they claim that one side's offset is visually more flush than the other. they make it seem like the axle is not completely centered. am i just crazy here?
