Michelen Primacy MXM4 5,000 mile review

My '08 G35X sedan came with stock 17" Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. Stuck like glue but I found the car to be teeth rattling over anything but perfect roads and traction in snow was a bit below what I expected for an AWD. At 30,000 the treads were shot. Overall was not satisfied and replaced them with Michelin Primacy MXM4 through Tire Rack and had a local Mr. Tire install; cost about $300 less than if I bought directly from any tire shop including Mr. Tire.

After 5,000 miles I can say the ride difference is amazing. There may be the slightest difference in handling, but I really think it might be even and the smoothness of the ride may make it feel a bit less sticky. The ride quality however is incredible. The Michelin's make the G everything I wanted - fast, nimble and smoooooth! No more teeth rattling jars over every little pot hole. I have only had one opportunity to drive in snow during the October storm and it was perfect. I suppose motor enthusiasts may trade off a lot of comfort for the slightest handling edge, but otherwise there is no comparison. My plan is to buy another G to replace my older vehicle as they are such great cars, but I will be looking to opt out of the OEM tires if they are the RS-A's and go with these Michelins.
