Questions of the 275/35 combo on G37s wheels with Continental DWS tires.
Questions of the 275/35 combo on G37s wheels with Continental DWS tires.
I did a bit of searching couldn't come up with a conclusion.
I have a set of G37s 19's that need tires i was looking to run 245/40 all around with Falken Pt-722's or something more "all season" that doesn't sacrifice too much dry grip.
I have been reading about the 275/35 combo which from the few pictures i have seen looks like a pretty good setup and not too drag racer looking and no balloon effect. I have also read that the Continental DWS have soft sidewalls and im thinking with a 275 in the back might not be the best combo.
If they made the Pt-722's in the 245/40 and 275/35 i wouldn't have a problem but they dont make the 275/35, for the guys with the DWS are the sidewalls really that soft? would it be too noticeable? I dont want to sacrifice any more than i have to by running "all season" tires if you know what i mean.
Should i just stick to 245/40 all around on these wheels?
Thanks!

Cant run the same size all around, many threads on that causing VDC issues. Best to use the 245/40-19 and 275/35-19 combo. The Conti does well in poor weather, good ride/life, good dry traction, average steering response. Overall a good Jack of All Trades tire. The steering response comments are all subjective, but overall I rarely have complaints on how they handle.

Thanks, Happen to know of any other tires in those sizes that have great wet/dry grip and can battle a couple snow days a year?
Holy ****, what a **** up on my part
Its like driving on marshmallows now, Ridiculously soft sidewalls and IMO the 245/40 and 275/35 tire setup with DWS is horrible i have 0 steering response now. What a disappointment. Even running 43 PSI doesnt help.

You should've ran the square setup, I'm running 255/40/18 all four corners on oem 18s, no vdc issues at all. Dunlop M3 winter sport are the tires.
Hopefully you resolve your issues

Yeah man i thought it would be more square according to what others have said that are running the setup im runniung those sizes on the G37 19x8.5 19x9 OEM wheels. Tire sizes and brands for All season tires are pretty shitty
Im thinking the option now since i already dropped a grand on these things is to put the 245/40 in the back from the front and buy 2 new ones for the front only problem is they dont make a 225/45/19 in the DWS can anyone tell me what my next best option would be?
215/35ZR19 85Y $129.00 (ea.)
225/35ZR19 88Y $154.00 (ea.)
225/40ZR19 93Y $163.00 (ea.)
235/35ZR19 91Y $177.00 (ea.)
245/35ZR19 93Y $180.00 (ea.)
245/40ZR19 94Y $223.00 (ea.)
Thanks guys.
Neal do you know how the 60 day satisfaction through continental works? I bought these tires online from 2 different vendors (Sorry didnt go through tirerack because of the wait would be too long) From my research i can trade them out for any other continental tire. But i imagine they wont let me trade out sizes.

Thanks guys prolly what i should have went with in the first place, id honestly like to stretch these DWS out even in the front since im running 245/40 upfront right now i was thinking maybe one of these 2 might work:
225/40ZR19 93Y $163.00 (ea.)
235/35ZR19 91Y $177.00 (ea.)
Any ideas?
Tire Size Comparison
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
225/40-19 3.5in 13.0in 26.1in 82.0in 773 0.0%
225/45-19 4.0in 13.5in 27.0in 84.7in 748 3.4%
Is that too much of a difference?
225/40ZR19 93Y $163.00 (ea.)

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

The 225/40/19-245/40/19 are the stock sizes for the coupe 19's and I'm also running that combo on my car. Provides a slight stretch on an 8.5"F and 9.5"R and I'm very happy with the combo.
Im running a 19x9 rear and 19x8.5 front though, still good?
