Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor Question

I ran into a problem with steel chrome caps being put onto my aluminum valve stems and then seizing to them. When trying to remove the caps my valve stems literally cracked. Since the Infiniti valve stem assemblies and TPMS units are all one piece i need to replace all 4 of my sensors. Have any of you used the Dorman aftermarket units?

Amazon Amazon

They are less than half the cost of the Infiniti units and also are serviceable in that you can replace the valve stems with $3 kits when you get new tires yet still keep the sensors. Please reply back if you have had any experience with them and if there were any issues getting them to sync with the computer. I have a 2004 G35 6mt 4dr.

Thanks!
Patrick

I bought the Dorman aftermarket unit from Advanced and had it installed at a friends shop. But when I took it to Infiniti to have them program the sensor they said that they can only program oem sensors. So I sucked it up and paid the $146 for the oem sensor. Though does anyone know of another shop in the Tampa area that has the software to program the sensors? So I don't have to pay the dealerships ridiculous price to do it!

I just replaced all 4 of my sensors (batteries were dieing after 6 years). I got them from tirerack.com with my new tires. The OEM sensor is made by Schrader for Nissan. All four sensors cost me $212 plus shipping. My dealership in town reprogrammed mine for free. I just drove in after my lunch break and was on my way 10 minutes later. Woot!

If you decide to go OEM, with the November/December special go to
http://bit.ly/grubbsparts
and in the part number search put 40700-CD001 you'll get them for $85.56 each, and $10 shipping
total - $352.24
