Low tire pressure light?

Just started driving the car around again. My low tire pressure light came on. I have had my winter rims tires on the car for a while now and I dint have tpms sensors in the rims. My question is why did it take so long for the light to come on it's been at least 300 miles since I put these tires and rims on.

Some systems take a while to recognize that there are no sensors present. Seems all is working properly if you have no sensors and the low pressure light is now on.

Thanks, light went back off without any changes. Guess I won't rely on that system much.

Well I put my summer tires back on and now the light is on again. Filled tires to 35 PSI per the door sticker. light still on after 60 miles of driving with 35PSI. Did some reserach today and not happy with any of the answers I seem to be finding. anyone have suggestions as I have no warenty. Since these are new tires that were mounted by the infiniti dealer and the light came on as soon as I put them on the car is it possable they messed up one of my sensors? Can you pull the TPMS code without a scanner? Thanks for the help.

Just called the dealer and they said they would reset the system for free. Thanks Bergstrum Infiniti, Appleton WI. Hope this takes care of the problem.

Ok so left work and noticed one tire was low. So overnight the tire leaked enough to trip the light. Brought it to the dealer anyways and they said it's the TPMS leaking through the stem. They say they tried a new valve core and it still leaked. So my question is now this: will any Nissan or Infiniti blue TPMS work to replace the one leaking? Does anyone have one laying around? The quoted $200 for sensor and labor. Ouch.

Thanks,
