Changed 17" tires on Sedan
So after my dealer installed the control arm (TSB - pulling to the right) and did 2 alignments in an attempt to rectify my car pulling to the right, they came to the conclusion that I had at least 1 or 2 "radial pulls" on my GY GSD's (215/55/17), since nothing worked and my car still pulled to the right. They decided to replace my whole set of tires under warranty. I mentioned I wanted Michelin's in the Plus 0 size. Earlier this week, they put my new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires (235/50/ZR17 - W rated) on my 17" Infiniti 5-Star Sport wheels and all I can say is...
WOW...Big Difference!
Not only does my car not pull to the right anymore, the slightly wider Michelins seem to make the car handle much better as well; the ride is a bit harder and sportier...I definitely feel the road better. Even though the GY GSD's were a summer sport tire (I believe the treadwear rating is like 180), the all-season Michelin's seem stickier; maybe it's just a result of a slightly wider footprint since they are all-season tires which feel harder (treadwear rating is 400 although I'm not counting on them lasting longer than 20k-25k mi.). Anyway, just thought I would share just in case anyone is looking to replace their stock 17" GY tires..I would recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S in the Plus 0 size of 235/50/ZR17 - W rated.
BTW - the 235/50/17 Plus 0 size does not affect the speedo, although it's a wider tire than the stock 215/55/17.
