How to make the G handle better

what mods, besides shocks/springs, can make the G handle better. More specifically which mods give you the most benefit. And keep it mind try to keep the mods simple.. no integrated roll bars, or rewelding seam sort of thing.

front sway, rear sway, front/rear strut... x brace?

i mean doesnt the G35 need more rigidity upfront, or the back etc?
thanks!

What do you drive?

Sedan with or without sport?

Coupe or a 2005 coupe with the sport suspension (standard on the 05 6MT)?

You've pretty much named the available mods. What kind of improvements are you looking for though? When you say better handling, is there any specific type of results you're looking for?

Tires are usually the most effective upgrade. It compliments just about any other improvement and a better tire than what you have will increase most, if not all handling parameters. Tires are the only thing on your car that is actually in contact with the road. A couple other things you may consider tweaking is the alignment. Slight adjustments can be made to try and improve handling. But what you change will be dependent upon the results you want to see.

About the only changes I might look at in the future might be to dial out some understeer, maybe reduce some of the understeer, and possibly increase the rebound damping of the shocks slightly. I find the G to be just a tad floaty.

Thicker wheels should provide better handling, I have heard that if you get thicker and bigger tires (19's for example) you get your car to be slower because more of an action is required to spin the wheel? Is this true?

In terms of better handling for road racing there are many things you can do to make your car a better handler. The most important thing to me is the driver first. Seat time and practice is invaluable. All the greatest equipment in the world isn't going to help a poor driver. But as far as actual mods that are available to our cars I would consider these items in order of importance IMO.

1. Lightweight wheels/sticky tires
2. Shocks/Springs/Coilovers
3. Alignment
4. Sway Bars
5. LSD
6. Bushings
7. Strut Bars

front and rear swaybars are the only things I would change on this car if I was
going for just handling.

Crank the psi on the tires up by 5 or 6. That should be good for a while.
