They can scrap the socket where the lug goes into. But hell I did that myself when I took my tire off. If your extra picky, it may bother you. I'm protective about my car & it really doesn't bug me. I hardly notice even when I clean the wheels. This doesn't mean they can scarp the crap out or your rims though, ask them to be careful and they'll ablige.

I would never let anyone touch my alloy rims with an impact, their okay to rattle off the nuts on gungy old steel rims but thats it. And if they say they torque your lugs with an impact that is a load of malarky. Make sure they use a torque wrench and torque it to the proper torque and in a proper torque sequence. I always retorque my wheel nuts after I have a few miles on the wheels. (you are actually supposed to do that)

I wouldn't use an impact wrench. Like baileyrx, I scratched the inside of the lug socket the first time with a standard wrench. I put electrical tape around outside of the wrench socket to prevent scratching the others and that worked fine.

There is a good chance your finish will get messed up like the others are saying. However, I think the more important issue is to torque them properly like GEE35X has stated. It's just about a guarantee that the nuts will be over-torqued if you use an impact wrench.

Many of these guys using an impact gun think they are on a NASCAR pit crew (God I hate NASCAR), I have seen them strip lug nuts, break studs, and ruin rotors.

Do it the old fashion way and make sure you or the shop uses a torque wrench. Improper torquing of lugs will warp your rotors!

Only if you use a Thin Wall with Poly Insert and Sleeve Socket. You can purchse a Socket Set at Myers Tire Supply for around $70. Using the socket set with an impact gun won't guarantee that your wheels would not get scratched, but better than using regular sockets. Why would you want to use an impact gun anyway? You use an impact gun at the track when you do not have a lot of time to waste and don't really care about getting your wheels scratched.
