Widening Factory Wheels/Strut Braces???

I have been reading the G forum for a while now but this is my first post.

While looking over the mods on everyones G, I have not noticed anyone adding strut braces. Are there any front strut tower braces available for the G Coupe? Is anyone installing the braces and if not, why?

My second question is, has anyone ever considered widening the factory 18" wheels? I am planning big changes for my G but would like to keep it a sleeper on the outside and want to add more meat to the rear. I think after market wheels are a big expense where the money could be put into engine performance and handling.

Thanks for any feedback and look forward to posting more often.

It will cost a fortune to widen the stock wheels (if it even can be done), and would be much more money than aftermarket wheels.

If you look closely at the engine bay of your car you will see that the car has two fire walls. This is to stiffen the structure supporting the struts. In many newer cars there is no need to add a strut brace. Older cars that had a much less rigid structure needed to tie the tops of the struts together to prevent flexing. It is not needed on the G35 unless you are going to road race and add many modifications to the suspension.

The search button is your friend, we talked about this just a few day's ago, no biggie here's the discussion.

I personally don't see the need to get one for my car especially
using low spring rates and stock struts. Perhaps if you are planning
to use high spring rate (over 500lbs/ft) in a competition application,
you might need one.

Hmmm, still curious about the wheels tho. I will research a little more on my own. Thanks anyway!
