Federal Tires

Hello,

Does anyone or has anyone ever used Federal 595 tires on their G35? I recently bought a set because of the price. If you have used Federal tires, how many miles did you get out of them? Also what did you think overall?

GET RID OF THEM. I will upload a picture of a set I bought a pair used from a buddy of mine (he had no idea they were bad) and when they mounted them, the sidewall split the entire circumfrence of the tire on BOTH. They were young in age for a tire and had plenty of tread left. I will upload a picture when I get on my laptop later.

You get what you pay for. Plain and simple, bottom line.

There are definitely better tire choices out there.

In regards to the mileage and whatnot, that really will depend on your alignment, tire pressure, driving style, etc.

It's hit or miss with federals. I have them in the rear of my slammed sedan (245/35/19 on a 10.5)

One of them is good overall, the other took a lot of weight to balance out (4oz, normal is 1-2oz) and it also has a lot of road force (45lbs, normal is under 23lbs) not a big deal to me though. Make sure you check your air pressure once a month at the least and they'll be fine.

I've had them on for about 6,000 miles at -4 camber and they have barely worn

Great tires for the price, but keep in mind that they are cheap for a reason.

Yes, go by what the door jamb says.

Kumho and Hankook's quality isn't too bad, especially for the price!

+1, i think most ran federals stretched, either mild or aggressive that had bad experiences with them. Running it normal may yield better results. Not to mention their website claimed to have improved the compound within the last year or so.

FYI, i'm running achilles now and I like them much better than federals. Cheap price also, if not cheaper.

I'm glad you shared this.

However, your buddy failed to inform you he drove on those tires flat.

I had my federals on for a year. I run -3.7 camber with no issues. The only problem is they run larger than standard and I rubbed on one side due to my axle issue...Anyways, quality is good. I rubbed for a year and the tire did not pop (i rubbed hard). For the price, they are awesome. You could spend $900 and get Michelin. I run 245/35/19 on 9.5. Next set, if Federals, will be 225/35/19 for 9.5. Good luck and make sure your Toe is in spec.
