What color should I paint my wheels?

I have a desert platinum coupe mostly stock although lowered on sportlines. I have a crappy set of wheels that I hope are temporary but the paint is peeling and I want to repaint them. They are flat black now and I'm tired of that I was thinking maybe a gunmetal or something? What do y'all think? I don't know how to post pics but there's a couple on my profile (don't laugh at my poor G) lol

Ehh not that bad, there is far worse out there! haha

Did you want to keep the polished portion polished or paint over the whole thing?

Gunmetal is a safe bet as it rarely looks bad and desert platinum works with gun metal.

Also silver is easy and always looks good.

I'm gonna paint the whole thing. I've even considered doing a red pinstripe around the lip. I hadn't thought about silver hmm

I've never been a fan of "Flat Black" but those don't look bad from a distance. I love the way Gunmetal looks with your car, that would be my first choice. Just paint the centers leaving the lips alone....Gary

^ agreed I would leave the lips and paint the faces.

Gunmetal hides brake dust very well.

Well it's not so much a lip as it is just a groove so ill probably just paint the whole thing or would it look better to keep it raw? Which is the other thing it's not really polished just raw so it gets covered in white residue every time it gets wet

Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of paint to use? I'm partial to engine enamel because its pretty durable but idk if I could get gunmetal engine enamel I've never looked.

Well I decided to do something a little different and went with blue/purple colorshifting paint. I'm sure most of y'all remember it was the **** in the 90's! I'm bringing it back lol turned out pretty good I think...I still don't know how to post pics but there's a couple updated ones on my profile if anyone wants to look

What........I could have sworn when you started this thread you were looking for help/advice? Why bother asking if you're going to make mistakes like this?

I think it looks good and I've gotten compliments on my wheels for the first time ever so obviously other people agree...what's the point in having the same thing as everyone else? I can't afford 1-3k for decent wheels lol
