Hankook Ventus V12s were one of my favorite tires I've personally run, however I really just hated how soft the sidewalls were. Right now I'm on FK452s and the sidewall is much stiffer but damn these tires are noisy and they tramline like crazy.

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11

I needed a new set to replace my Michelin Pilot Sports . They were worn quite low and the road noise was terrible. very loud droning sound especially while slowing down. Passengers sometimes commented that I might need new wheel bearings.
Did my research and it came down to Michelin Pilot Super Sports or Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. both are not cheap but I wanted a summer only tire with a stiffer sidewall and one that minimizes road noise.
I chose the Potenza RE-11 . The road noise has almost completely disappeared and the car handles unbelievably well . these are very sticky tires . they also have a great looking sidewall and tread pattern. So far I have only driven a few hundred miles on these but I am very pleased with them.

RE-11's are great tires indeed, but I think they give up quite a bit of treadlife in return for their stickiness. That's not necessarily a bad thing at all, as long as that's the attribute you really value most. IMHO, I see the SS's as a great daily driver tire, whereas I think I'd want RE-11's on an extra set of lightweight wheels I'd pop on for an autocross or trackday.

Opinions are like as....you know the rest! I've never had a Michelin tire fail and many other major brands have. I vote for Michelin Pilot Super Sports, they have a UTQG of 300 which should get you 30K miles of trouble free driving....and they're sticky too!

I just had a set of Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions installed yesterday. These tires are phenomenal! Great grip, nice firm ride, and great road feel. They do ride a little rough when you hit a big bump but the ride is surprisingly comfortable. I would definitely recommend these if you are looking for summer tires. They were also on sale for $200 bucks cheaper than the Michelin PSS's.
