Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

Your stock oem tires are 26.2" tall, try and get as close to that height as you can. Tirerack's site has specs for all their tires, where you can look of the height of the tire's your interested in. As a example, I went with 245/40-18 vs 245/45/-18, since the 45's are taller than oem, I did not want to take a performance hit. The 40's are within 2.3% in size of oem.

You can quickly run threw several tire size comparison's via the link provided at the top of this forum section, the thread mentioning wheel diameter's (should read tire diameters).

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

I'm also considering upsizing my tires to 18. Can any tell me or clarify if 245/40/18 is the way to go without loosing performance or having the tire rub against the fender? I haven't decided if I want to play it safe by going with 245/45/18.

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

I'll be mounting 245/45/18's up front and 275/40/18's in the rear, in the next day or two... these tires have a diameter of 26.7, which is about as close as you'll get to the stock 215/55/17 (26.3), when upgrading to 18's. The 245/40/18 is an option as well...just slilghtly shorter than stock, whereas mine are slightly taller than stock. I'll post pics, and let you know as soon as I get them put on.

Cheers!

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

Sedan's VDC system supposedly cannot handle different-sized front and back tires.I have a sedan I was interested in the 18"oem coupe rims but they are 225/45R18 W-rated front tire and 245/45R18 W-rated rear tire so before buying your tires check that with your service assistant so VDC works propertly.

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

I could understand where a difference in tire diameter could cause such a potential problem. I'm going with a staggered 245/45/18 and 275/40/18; both of which have an identical 26.7" diameter. Using a 225/45 (25.9") and 245/45 (26.7") may be more of an issue.

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

Maybe the problem with the factory 18 rims is that are different in diameter, I'm only suggest that consult with your service advisor.

Re: G35 Sedan Rims????

Anybody know if putting 20's on a sedan will affect the smoothness of the ride, and if so how much? Also, what is the largest width tire I can safely use on the sedan without a rubbing problem, I already know that infiniti says 225 but has anyone used 245 width without any problems. I'm planning on gettin some 20's with 245/35/20 tires and want to know if it will be ok. Thanks
