Help me on this setup!

Holy cow! The more I read, the more confused I get. Can you guys help me out?

I'm looking for a staggered setup on a 2005 Sedan, 18x8/18x9 or 18x8.5/18x9.5. What offset will give me maximum lip without any fitting problems? I'm planning on getting the TEIN basic coilovers.

Thanks so much for the help!

First thing that comes to mind it to warn you that Basics on the sedan will require a investment in front adjustable control arms, like $389 Cusco arms. And the rear will require $240 SPC camber arms/elongated toe bolts to bring the alignment back into spec. This is because of how low they drop the sedan.

I can't help you on maximum rim lips, simply because it's not something that I look for, but I can get you the offset ranges. If you REDUCE offset's to get lip depth, this will mean tire width's will have to go down.

IMO, these car deserve at least a 245 tire in the front.

On a 18x8 rim in the front, with a 225 tire, you can do a 30mm to 45mm offset

On a 18x8 rim in the front, with a 245 tire, you can do 35mm up to 45mm offset.

On a 18x9 rim in the rear, with a 265/40 tire, with a 43mm to 55mm offset

On a 18x9 rim in the rear, with a 245 tire, you can do a 38mm offset

On a 18x5 rim in the front, with a 245 or 255 tire, you can do a 38mm/40mm offset

On a 18x9.5 rim in the rear, with a 275 tire, you can do 45mm/55mm offset

If you must do staggered widths, keep the front to rear rolling diameter as close as possible, I would not exceed 1% front to rear differance.

Thank you so much. That really helps me a lot. About the Basics, would it be better to just get springs like S-Techs or H-Techs if I'm only looking to reduce gap, not for performance?

S Tech's would be fine. May want to consider the Tanabe springs too. They lower the vehicle just a tad bit more than S Tech's.

If you want to reduce gap... Just get the springs and I can help you out in giving you that custom look... If you seen my G around it will probably help you in your decision...

I didn't want to go quite as low as the S-Techs for the sedan. People have been saying the H-Techs for the 350Z work perfectly. Would that work too?
