I'm a complete newb when it comes to these things but i was hoping to get some help from the community before i buy some new tires.

I live in California, i have a 2004 g35 coupe with 18's with brembos (not sure if that matters)

What would be a good tires for a daily drive? I understand that the back and front tires are different sizes so please be specific if you have any input!

I'm assuming you are running OEM 18" wheels, so I'd just stick with the OEM tire sizing. As far as tire brand and model though, that's totally dependent on your budget. If you don't drive your car hard and want tires that will be quiet, last long, and be good in various weather conditions, I'd recommend checking out the Continental DWS, or something comparable. If you want something more performance oriented, check out the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

 

had great dealings with nexen tires. usually fairly priced and offer good performance and life depending on models. I have used both cp662 and cp672. only sets of tires the G has seen the past 53k miles.

 

where in CA are you? If in the northern area I go to a tire shop that gets the tires off the CPO BMWs, Mercedes & VW. I've got to try literally 100s of different tires.

Falken 452s & Eagle F1s are my favorites. Federals are cheap, and handle fairly well.

Nexen haven been the worst.

 

Yea my vote goes against Nexen as well.

I'd personally stay away from Falken FK452s though as well.

My recommendations are with Kevins, the contis and the Michelins are go to tires for me.

 

Any price range you want to be around per tire? Looking for a more sport based option or something longer lasting and better riding? Aggressive driver or more touring long distance?

 

You don't need to run smaller tires on your front end, the 245s will make your coupe handle much better than the 225s it came with....I promise! I've used every quality tire made and I've had major issues with most except Michelin's. The Michelin Super Sports with a UTQG of 300 should last you 30K+ miles and you'll never want to buy anything else....Gary
